I hope you had a great weekend and this week is going well. I took my family down to Second Beach in Vancouver’s Stanley Park to a huge outdoor pool, where we lounged around and enjoyed clear blue skies and endless views of Vancouver’s English Bay and North Shore Mountains. We came back home where we picked fresh cherries in back yard and watched the ducks float by the canal that borders our back yard. I wish summers lasted longer here in British Columbia.

3. British Columbia Certified Offshore School Program

I am not surprised by how popular the BC Certified Offshore School Program is. I have prospective clients in China and the Middle East requesting my firm’s support to assist them with having their new school authorized by BC's Ministry of Education. I have spent my career teaching, starting, and leading private schools in BC, as well as developing close to 20% of BC’s K-12 curriculum in Information Technology, Technology Education, PE, Applied Skills, Law, and more. I know it is solid program that stands up against any other country in terms of quality and recognition.

BC’s Ministry of Education recognizes this too and have set up an authorization program for founders outside of Canada to have their offshore school become BC certified. The benefits of this move are huge:

• If you are accredited, your school will be 100% certified by the British Columbia's Ministry of Education. You will have your a BC school in your own country.
• Students taking your school’s educational programs receive the same quality of education as students in a British Columbia School, taught by BC-certified teaching professionals with BC-certified exams.
• It provides a superior educational program for your school and a prestigious school in your community.
• You can be sure that when your students graduate from your School they are the best they can be and are accepted at Canadian universities just as a BC student would.
• High standards set by the BC Ministry also mean that a Canadian High School Diploma is recognized in English speaking countries worldwide.

The effort and costs are worth it – you have a quality program, and a universally accepted educational model that prepares children for success, and status as one of the most esteemed and rigorous education programs in the world.

To be considered a genuine BC School and authorised to provide the British Columbia School Curriculum and BC Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood) at graduation, you will need to follow the rigorous requirements outlined by British Columbia’s Ministry of Education. As part of the process required by the B.C. Ministry of Education, you are required to have an approved “Agent.” We would encourage you to select our firm based on team's combined experience and ability to tailor our services to your needs. By following the Ministry of Education’s detailed quality controls, it will ensure delivery of the curriculum in the most effective way for children. Accordingly, when students enrol at your School they will receive an official PEN number from the B.C. Ministry of Education.

The rigorous control process ensures a quality education and universal acceptance in Canada and the USA. The process includes annual on-site inspections by the B.C. Ministry of Education. This means that your students will always receive the highest standards of academic instruction. The preparation and training your students receive at your School will benefit them during more competitive years at the university level at home or overseas. High standards set by the BC Ministry also mean that the BC Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood) is recognized in English speaking countries worldwide.

As part of the certification process, the teachers and Principal in the BC Diploma Program must be fully certified with the same qualifications required in the Province of British Columbia. A mature faculty comprised of certified teaching professionals and a Principal certified by the BC Ministry of Education provides your students with consistent teaching and the best education standards possible. This also means that you will need to use BC-certified government exams in Grades 10, 11, and 12, and ongoing on-the-ground inspections and accreditation by the Ministry of Education.

The Ministry of Education has developed a stringent multi-step process to establish and operate BC-certified Offshore Schools. You will need to apply for “Candidate” and then “Certification” Status working with your designated Agent leading you through the rigorous accreditation and school formation process. Your school will have on-site inspections by the BC Ministry of Education as well as an accreditation inspection when the school is operating. Furthermore, your students will need to be taught the prescribed learning outcomes of B.C.’s Integrated Learning Resources (IRP), and government exams in Grades 10, 11, and 12 to graduate with an authorised BC Certificate of Graduation (Dogwood). Most BC offshore schools begin their program in Grade 10, so exams in Grade 4 and 7 are not necessary. However, the efforts will be worth it – you have a assurance of quality, and a universally accepted educational model that prepares children for success, and status as one of the most esteemed and rigorous education programs in the world.
